Bone density measurement
Human bone is composed of organic and inorganic components. Bone densitometry measures the inorganic mineral salt content of the bone. There are different methods to measure bone density.
The DXA measurement has the highest international standard. This method uses a very low level of X-rays to measure bone density at the spine and femoral neck bone. The measured values provide information on how stable and strong the bone is. Osteoporosis can thus be detected at an early stage.
