Diagnostics with nerve conduction velocity

The measurement of nerve conduction velocity (NLG) is used to test nerve function. Under controlled conditions, electrical stimuli are applied to the nerves to be examined and the stimulus response is recorded. This examination is used to detect damage to individual nerves, e.g. due to injury or entrapment, as well as general diseases of the peripheral nervous system (polyneuropathy).
