Diagnosis based on ultrasound
Ultrasound – also called sonography is an imaging examination without radiation exposure. In this case, sound waves are sent from the surface of the body into the depths and reflected by the various tissues to varying degrees. These reflections are measured by the ultrasound probe and assembled point by point to form an image.
A major advantage of sonography is the harmlessness of the sound waves used and the good soft tissue imaging under dynamic conditions. The physician can thus assess the soft tissues during movement facilitating a precise analysis of the corresponding injury patterns. The examination is completely painless.
